At age 16, Earle Jorgensen tore out three words from a magazine article that said “Hustle – That’s All! ” and put it in his wallet. Today those words remain, on signs in our buildings and in the hearts and actions of the people who today make EMJ a company committed to “Making a Material Difference®.”
Jorgensen Steel and Aluminum was founded in 1921 and quickly became a highly-regarded name in the U.S. metal-working industry. Jorgensen grew to stock one of the country’s largest inventories of bar, sheet, plate and structural steel and aluminum. Read the history of EMJ USA.
In 1989, EMJ completed a strategic acquisition to bring their tried and true business model to the Canadian market. From the very start our goal was to be the premier supplier of specialty metal products in Canada. Today EMJ operates from 5 warehouse locations in Canada and 32 locations in the United States providing world class service to various industries.
